Collaboration includes overseas roadshow series and wealth solutions for global residents
Maybank has become the first among a select group of banks in Malaysia to collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) as a banking partner of the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme. Through its wealth management arm, Maybank Premier, the Bank will offer a suite of solutions tailored to successful MM2H applicants, in line with national efforts to attract global talent and long-term foreign residents.
The MM2H programme, led by the Malaysian government, offers long-term renewable visas ranging from 5 to 20 years. Designed for retirees, professionals, and global investors, the latest MM2H framework introduces tiered categories (Silver, Gold, Platinum) and additional benefits for applicants investing in Malaysia’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Special Financial Zones (SFZs).
As part of this landmark collaboration, the Bank is rolling out a series of international roadshows and activities, with the first event held recently at MSpace@ Maybank Tower in Singapore. Themed “MM2H – Your Gateway to Malaysia”, the event included in-depth discussions on the MM2H application journey and regulatory guidance, drawing strong interest from global investors and high-net-worth individuals exploring long-term residency, strategic relocation, and wealth diversification opportunities in Malaysia.
In addition, the Bank is also offering a package for successful MM2H applicants, including preferential rates, low fixed-rate charges for unit trust investments, automatic Premier banking status, holistic financial advisory services, and more. These offerings aim to provide a comprehensive and simplified financial journey for individuals relocating to Malaysia, aligned with their lifestyle, investment, and residency needs.
“The Malaysia My Second Home programme is a key driver for our tourism and investment sectors, and we welcome the support of leading financial institutions such as Maybank in helping us promote this initiative to regional investors,” said YB Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia. “Malaysia’s cultural richness, safety, and modern infrastructure make it an ideal second home destination,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli, President & Group CEO, Maybank, said, “This strategic collaboration underscores Maybank’s commitment to supporting Malaysia’s economic ambitions by positioning the country as a premier destination for global investors and long-term residents. As a banking partner for MM2H, we are proud to offer a holistic financial ecosystem that not only meets the sophisticated needs of international clients, but also reinforces Malaysia’s appeal as a vibrant, forward-looking nation.”
