
Mazhatulshima Binti Mohd Zahid, Group Chief Human Capital Officer (GCHCO)
Maybank has appointed Mazhatulshima Binti Mohd Zahid as Group Chief Human Capital Officer (GCHCO) effective 3 October 2024. Mazhatulshima will be responsible to drive the Group’s people strategy, based on a progressive and comprehensive enterprise-wide people management framework and initiatives, to enable the continued development of Maybankers across all levels, sectors, and countries. She will report to the President & Group Chief Executive Officer (PGCEO) of Maybank and be a member of the Group Executive Committee.
Mazhatulshima, 54 years old, will succeed Datuk (Dr) Nora Abd Manaf who retires after a career of 16 years with Maybank.
As an accomplished professional with more than 29 years of experience, particularly in the areas of treasury, risk management and internal audit, Mazhatulshima started her career in treasury dealing and then transitioned to market risk management, serving leading financial institutions in Malaysia before joining Maybank Kim Eng Group (now known as Maybank Investment Banking Group) as its Chief Risk Officer in July 2018.
In April 2023, Mazhatulshima was appointed as the Chief Audit Executive at Maybank Singapore. In this role, she successfully led a team of audit practitioners in delivering high-quality audit work with a risk-based approach and significantly enhanced audit practices through increased use of data analytics, digital tools, and implementation of continuous auditing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois.
PGCEO of Maybank, Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli said that this appointment continued to demonstrate the effectiveness of Maybank’s internal succession planning and talent management policy, aligned to strengthen and intensify its internal capacity building.
